SAMPE north america names DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD RECIPIENTs

 

Thursday, June 24, 2021, DIAMOND BAR, CA The Society for the Advancement of Materials and Process Engineering (SAMPE) North America, is pleased to announce that Dr. William B. Avery Ph.D., SAMPE Fellow, and Boeing Technical Fellow (retired), and Dr. A. Brent Strong, SAMPE Fellow, and Chief Technology Officer, Utah Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Initiative (UAMMI), have both been named 2021 recipients of the SAMPE North America Distinguished Service Award.

Both of these gentlemen exemplify all that is good about the SAMPE community,” said Jerome Berg, SAMPE North America President Elect. “The contributions that both Bill Avery and Brent Strong have made contributed significantly in helping SAMPE further its mission of advancing all levels of educational opportunities to the advanced materials and processes fields.”

The SAMPE North America Distinguished Service Award was established in 2016 by the North America Board of Directors to recognize a SAMPE member who has notably enhanced the stature of the Society or made significant contributions to the attainment of the Society’s objectives.

This award will be presented at the upcoming SAMPE awards event at CAMX in Dallas, TX, with details to be announced soon.
